500kw Site – Data Centre Design & Build

BIS Ltd, a large UK data centre provider and operator, appointed Saradan as design & Build contractor to create a £2.5m, 300m2 extension to their existing “live” 1,000m2 Docklands data centre facility.

The works were successfully competed in 5 months with no IT downtime or affect on client business operations.

• Creation of a new Box-in-Box 300m2 data hall
• Extension of the existing UPS/electrical plant room
• Extension of the external plant compound
• Ground works and trenching for the new generators and substation
• Installation of a new 11kV, 1.0mVA supply
• 6 x 100kW DX CRAC units in the data hall (N+1)
• 2 x 40kW DX CRAC units in the plant room (2N)
• 2 x 800kVA Static UPS (2N)
• 4 x 500kVA Diesel Generators (N+1)
• 2 x Main LV Distribution Boards (2N)
• 2 x UPS Output Boards (2N)
• 4 x C & E PDU’s (2n)
• Generator AMF Panel
• Dual power distribution to IT cabinets
• Argonite gas suppression to data hall and plant room
• VESDA to the data halls
• TREND BMS system monitoring all M&E plant
• CCTV internally and externally
• Biometric and card and pin access control system
