Overview

The project scope was the conversion of a disused bowling alley into Guernsey’s largest state-of-the-art data centre. The architectural and M&E designs catered for the works to be performed in phases, with planning permission obtained for the whole scheme up front. Saradan acted as design consultants and Project Managers for the main contractor.

What was involved

  • Complete strip out of the building with major structural repairs
  • Re-roofing of the whole building
  • Fit out of Phase 1 data hall
  • Form a POP room, office area, plant room and ancillary areas
  • External landscaping and ground works
  • 4 x 550kVA Diesel Generators and 2 x 600kVA Static UPS’s
  • A completely new electrical installation designed to provide N+N power supplies to all IT cabinets
  • Fire detection and Gas suppression of the computer room and plant room
  • Access Control & CCTV systems
  • 8 x 70kW Close Control air-conditioning units (N+1)
  • TREND BMS system
